Term 4 reading

 

This was my favourite activity because you could do any half you want. The text was called Multiplication Monday.

 

I liked this hive activity because it was the one where  I explored all of the activities.

Cubism Trip

 

We went to the MTG to learn more about  cubism. Something I really enjoyed is making the cubism faces. Something I would like to know about is what the pictures were.

W.A.L.T: use interesting words to describe. The word I like best in this poem is KABOOM ! A word I really liked in Liam’s poem is vibrating.

In Maths knowledge I am in the stage 6 group.

I am good at 100x table.

I'm in the expert group because I finished the essential list 7. 

I need to improve on big words that have letters silent in them.

Our group is working on homophones.

Cross Country

     

On Wednesday September we had a cross country race in the morning at Farndon Park,Clive.  I was facing the 8 year old school group. We lined up in our age group. Mr Basset had a little 

talk then we had the race.

Mr Basset spoked into the miniature microphone to tell us to line up in our age groups.

They were doing the 8 year old girls first. When the clappers go off you start running or sprinting.

"Get set...GO!.,". 

The girls dashed off, I felt exited. Now it's our turn we walk up to the line and do some stretchers . Mr Bassett said to line up on the race line ready to race.

"Get set, GO,!.

I started running I let a few people in front of me then they slowed down .I sped up I was around the third goal post then the fourth goal post now I was by the pool. Now I was close to the finish I sprinted as hard as I could. I came 3rd. 

I felt tired and good at the same time, I bet everyone else liked it.

Something I can confidently do is:cut regular shapes in half two different ways. Something I need to work on is: order fractions from smallest to largest.

READING TERM TWO. in reading this week I read the book 'Wet' on the Reading Eggspress App . I did not use the read-back function. Something I learned was Bengal Tigers have soft foot pads so that animals can't hear them. I passed all of comprehension tests. I needed to reread three chapters to pass.

In Inquiry we made a diorama to show what we learned about the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi at Clive. I assessed my Diorama a 3 because I was away for 2 days and needed to think how to work faster. To improve l need one more European, 3 more chiefs and a treaty table.

In swimming I am in the seal’s group. I am actually in the seals group which is the next group up . We do the same as the advanced dolphins but faster and further. I like jumping in to relaxing,cool,smooth water. Something I did well was breathing I am working on putting my arms in place.

On the 25th of February I Went to watch Ashley do Canoe Polo at pandora pond. She lives in Palmerston North with Stephan,Lars and Shannon. While I was waiting I went and had a little play in the water with my Dads Body Board. My Mum saw a big wibit I wanted to go on to it so I lined up. Then it our was turn it,it was fun. Finally I watched her play they tied.

In writing we are learning to write recounts.
Something I did well was using ‘w’ details in my opening.
Something that I need to work on is using interesting vocabulary.
